Kenco Marks 66th Anniversary - Host P.I.T Rodeo
August 15th, 2016 -
Kenco is celebrating 66 years in business. Our company was founded on August 1st 1950 by J.D. Kennedy Sr., James D. Kennedy, Jr, and Samuel Read Smartt.
Each year on the first Friday in August, we take the time to remember our humble beginnings as a single warehouse in Chattanooga, TN; and also celebrate our many successes since then, that have allowed us to become the largest woman-owned third party logistics company.
This year, in conjunction with Founder’s Day Kenco also hosted our first Power Industrial Truck rodeo. The P.I.T. rodeo tested driver’s knowledge of safety procedures, equipment care and driving ability.
Nine fork lift drivers from Kenco sites across the country participated, including Kenco Toyota-Lift’s very own Chattanooga Parts Manager Jason Harvey, who placed 2nd in the contest!
This was a great first event, and we are looking forward to more rodeos in years to come. We would like to congratulate everyone who participated; as well as thank the Risk Management Department who helped organize, coordinate, and host the event.
